Eagles News · Manny’s Walkoff Seals the Deal in Delaware Christian Baseball Victory Over Columbus Torah Academy

A walk-off single Tuesday night propelled Delaware Christian to a decisive, dramatic victory over Columbus Torah Academy, 10-9.

The game started slow for the Eagles, down 0-9 into the bottom of the third inning.  A change on the mound for the Lions brought some momentum for Delaware Christian, allowing three walks and then a strong double by Isaac Rindfuss, scoring two.  Overall, Delaware Christian notched five runs in the third inning. Isaac Rindfuss, Curtis Bean, Ryan Manny, Dirk Harris, and Tristan Boytar each had RBIs in the big inning.

In the bottom of the seventh, the Eagles found themselves down by two, 7-9.  A clinch double by Ryan Suroweic scored two, tying the game at nine all. Ryan Manny singled on a 1-0 count, scoring the winning run.

Delaware Christian tallied nine hits on the day.  Ryan Manny and Isaac Rindfuss each collected multiple hits for the Eagles. Samuelson led Torah Academy with three hits in four at bats.

There was plenty of action on the base paths as well as Delaware Christian collected nine hits and Columbus Torah Academy had seven.  The offensive firepower for the Lions was led by Benzaquen, Samuelson, Epstein, and D. Myers.

Isaac Rindfuss led things off on the rubber for Delaware Christian. He went two innings, allowing five runs on five hits and striking out two.  Ryan Manny got the win allowing only one hit, two walks and striking out nine.

Samuelson got the start for Columbus Torah. He lasted three innings, allowing five hits and three runs while striking out four.  S. Metz threw nearly three innings in relief out of the bullpen with Samuelson returning to the mound for the last at bat.

The Eagles play their next game Friday night (4/13), away at Shekinah Christian, Plain City.  First pitch will be thrown at 5:30PM.
