Delaware Christian Baseball Falls to Shekinah Christian After Fifth Inning Score

Delaware Christian Baseball lost the lead late in a 2-1 defeat to Shekinah Christian on Friday.  In the bottom of the fifth.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Shekinah Christian pitchers struck out eight, while Ryan Manny for Delaware Christian sat down seven.

Delaware Christian got on the board in the first inning, with Isaac Rindfuss scoring on a stolen base. Shekinah evened things up at one in the bottom of the fourth inning with an RBI by A. Chrysler, bringing in J. Hershberger.

Manny pitched for Delaware Christian, surrendering only two runs on seven hits over six innings, striking out seven. The Eagles tallied seven hits on the day.  Manny and Isaac Rindfuss both had two hits with singles added by John Comer, Tristan Boytar and Ryan Surowiec.  The Delaware Christian defense didn’t commit a single error in the field. Dirk Harris lead the defensive charge with eight putouts at the catcher position.

Shekinah Christian collected seven hits. Chrysler and J. Hershberger each had multiple hits for Shekinah Christian.

 

Crestline Captures Lead Early to Defeat Delaware Christian Baseball

Delaware Christian Baseball couldn’t recover in a 14-3 loss to Crestline on Saturday.  The Eagles struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Crestline, giving up 14 runs.

K Ronk led things off on the rubber for Crestline. He surrendered one run on one hit over one inning, striking out one. Ryan Surowiec got the start for Delaware Christian, Cole Petersimes and Micah Mecklenburg also helping from the bullpen.

Isaac Rindfuss, Harris Dirk, Mecklenburg, and Ryan Manny each managed one hit to lead Delaware Christian in offense.  The Eagles were successful on base paths, as two players stole at least two bases, Tristan Boytar leading with two but it was just not enough to get a rally going.

Crestline scattered ten hits in the game.  Foltz and Hatfield each collected multiple hits for Crestline.

The Eagles play next at a home game on Tuesday 4/17 again MOCAL opponent Madison Christian.  First pitch will be thrown at 5:30PM.
