Delaware Christian hosted Harvest Prep Saturday, winning 14-1 in the first game, 20-4 in the second. The strong offensive showing was a team effort led by big days from senior, Claire Bowman and freshmen Emma Rindfuss and Katie Neuhart. On the day, the Lady Eagles racked up 21 hits and 12 RBIs.
In game one, Bowman lead the offense with four QABs, Rindfuss added 1 hit and three RBIs. Other contributors included a single from Eden Marquis, a double from Cassidy Justice and RBIs brought in by Rindfuss (3), Bowman (1), Maria Crooks (2), Cassidy (1) and Emily Kalb (3). The defense was lead by a dual effort from catcher Cassidy Justice and Maria Crooks on first who teamed up for 6 putouts.
Game two of the day highlighted more offense from the Delaware Christian Eagles, lead by Katie Neuhart with four hits and four RBIs from Bowman. Other contributors to the strong offensive effort included hits from senior, Zoe Twigg (3), Bowman (3), Rindfuss (2), Marquis (2), singles each from Macy Allison, Crooks, Cassidy and Emily Kalb with Elizabeth Ringley adding 2 runs.
Katie toed the rubber for the Eagles in the first game, going five innings, allowing one run on two hits and striking out six. Maria Crooks and Claire Bowman shared the pitching duties for game two, resulting in a combined effort that allowed only two hits and 12 strikeouts.
The Delaware Christian Lady Eagles will return to league play on Monday 4/8, as they travel to Madison Christian. First pitch will drop at 5:30PM.
