Eagles News · Six RBI Day for Claire Bowman Leads Delaware Christian Varsity Softball Past Shekinah Christian

Six runs batted in from Senior, Claire Bowman helped lead Delaware Christian Varsity Softball past Shekinah Christian 10-4 on Thursday.  Bowman drove in runs on a groundout in the first, a home run in the second, and a triple in the sixth.

A full team effort racked up 13 hits on the day.  Emma Rindfuss, Eden Marquis, Maria Crooks, Bowman, and Katie Neuhart all collected multiple hits for the Eagles.  Rindfuss went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Delaware Christian in hits.  Other offensive contributors included Cassidy Justice (1 single, 1 RBI), and Senior Zoe Twigg (1 double).

Shekinah Flames tried to rally in the 5th, but were held to only 3 runs in the inning, a total of 4 on the night.  Yutzy, Kolzer and Scheffel led the visiting team, all with 2 hits.  The DCS defense was led by Rindfuss with 10 chances resulting in 10 putouts at the 2 position.  Crooks also was dominant on first with 9 chances and 9 putouts.  Other defensive contributors included Marquis offering three assists from 3rd and Elizabeth Ringley with 3 assists and 1 PO.

Bowman pitched for Delaware Christian, allowing seven hits and four runs while striking out eight and walking zero. Savannah Kilzer was in the circle for Shekinah Christian. She allowed 13 hits and ten runs over six innings, striking out five and walking zero. Delaware Christian Eagles Varsity socked one home run on the day with the efforts of senior, Claire Bowman in the 2nd inning.

The week night victory improves Delaware Christians’ overall record to 5-2, 3-0 in the MOCAL.  The Eagles will travel to Ridgedale on Saturday for a double header starting at 11AM.
