The cross country teams traveled to Granville Saturday morning to run in the BrynDu Invitational. DCS runners had some great performances on a tough course!
The high school girls ran in the Open Division (167 runners). Freshman Molly Gregory finished 6th with a time of 22:14.3 and Cate Ayers finished 138th with a personal best time of 30:41.2.
The high school boys also ran in the Open Division (211 runners). Senior Temirlan Snedden finished in 16th place with a time of 19:49.2 followed by sophomore Ethan Hrynkow in 22nd place at 19:55.3. Freshman Kyle Buzbee came in at 58th with a time of 20:57.0. Freshman Josiah Mulligan rounded out the DCS boys with a personal best time of 24:41.8.
The middle school girls (165 runners) were up next led by Julia Pearch at 15:52.7 for a 49th place finish followed by Elyse Langton with a personal best time of 16:22.2 in 75th place. Maddison Miller ran a 16:43.1 in 84th, Ellia Penick ran 17:01.6 at 90th and Zoe Gyde ran 17:04.5 to finish 91st.
The middle school boys (144 runners) finished the day out with Will Kelley running a personal best time of 15:21.8 in 82nd place, Caden Buzbee ran a 16:32.3 in 113th place and Ben Hrynkow finished with a personal best time of 16:39.0 in 115th.
The team’s next meet is Tuesday, September 3rd at Fairbanks High School.
