The DCS cross country teams ran at Watkins Memorial High School in the Jim McGowan Invitational on Saturday.
The middle school boys started the day off competing in the first section of the open division. Will Kelley led the way with a time of 15:51.3. Caden Buzbee ran a personal best 16:19.3 followed by Mathias Baughman (17:42.4) and Sam Baker (19:05.3).
The middle school girls competed next in the open division and finished with an 11th place team finish out of 26! Julia Pearch ran a season best 14:49.7 to finish in 8th place overall. Elyse Langton ran a 16:32.6 and Zoe Gyde was the top 6th grade finisher overall with a time of 16:41.6. Josie Morrow recorded a personal best at 17:02.3 and Ellia Penick rounded out the scoring for the MS girls at 17:53.2.
The high school boys took to the course next in the Division 3 Open race and were led by senior Temirlan Snedden with a personal best time of 18:37.5 to finish 22nd. Ethan Hrynkow ran a 18:58.5 to finish 25th and Kyle Buzbee ran a personal best time of 19:05.1 to finish 27th,
The high school girls finished the day in the Division 3 Open race and were led by Molly Gregory with a 22:06.9 followed by Hannah Philbrook at 24:26.6. Cate Ayers ran a personal best of 28:44.9!
The teams next meet is at Fisher Catholic High School on Tuesday, September 17th for the Be Moore Invitational.
