The DCS middle and high school cross country teams had an outstanding day at the MOCAL Championships!
Sophomore Molly Gregory ran a personal best time of 21:17.7 to claim the high school girls championship! Hannah Philbrook finished in 4th place at a 25:10.0 followed by Elyse Langton in 6th with a personal best time of 25:44.0!
In the high school boys race, sophomore Kyle Buzbee defended his boys championship with a time of 20:14.7. Josiah Mulligan finished in 6th place with a time of 21:57.3 followed by Noah Mack in 13th at 24:33.4, Jonathan Kubelik in 15th at 25:38.1 and Nathan Mack in 19th with a personal best time of 29:10.4. The high school boys finished in 2nd place behind Madison Christian School.
The middle school girls were led by Julia Pearch in 2nd place and a personal best time of 14:00.8. Maddison Miller ran a season best time of 16:31.7 to finish in 6th. Zoe Gyde finished in 8th at 16:46.9. Allison Hammond ran a personal best time of 17:26.1 to finish in 10th followed by Sarah Philbrook who also recorded a personal best time of 18:06.4 to finish in 13th place. The girls team are taking home the team championship for the 3rd straight year!
The middle school boys were led by Caden Buzbee with a personal best time of 14:30.5 to finish 4th. Ben Hrynkow also recorded a personal best time of 14:32.7 to finish in 6th. Jake Vanderzee finished in 11th with a time of 14:57.9 followed by Brady Hsu in 19th at 18:13.3.
The middle school teams will compete this coming Thursday at the FCA invitational and the high school teams will compete in the OHSAA division 3 district meet on Friday.
