A slow offensive start and an inability to finish around the rim (7-22 shooting in the paint) put the Eagles behind early in their home opener against Elgin. While the offense would start to come around by the 4th quarter, the hole was too deep as the Delaware Christian boys fell 60-45.
The Eagles were led by senior Keenan Siebert with 11 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists. Junior Curtis Bean also had a solid game with 10 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists and 0 turnovers. Other contributors included Nathan Stewart (8pts, 1 reb), Ryan Manny (7pts, 8reb), John Comer (5pts, 4reb) and Jon Walter (4pts, 2reb, 3ast).
The varsity boys will look to rebound this coming Monday as they travel to East Knox.
