The Delaware Christian Eagles varsity baseball team kicked off the season with a 10-7 victory over Liberty Christian Academy. The Eagles (1-0) converted 14 base hits into 10 runs in route to their opening day win.

Junior Connor Beck started & went 4 innings on the mound for Delaware Christian to pick up the win. Junior Evan Hobbs came on in relief to pitch the final 3 innings. Beck (4 IP, 8 K, 2 R, 1 ER, 1BB, 1 HBP) notched 8 strikeouts and gave up only 2 runs in his 4 innings of work. Hobbs (3 IP, 3 K, 5 R, 5 ER, 0 BB, 1 HBP) struck out 3 Liberty batters & walked none in his 3 innings of relief to secure the victory.

Freshman Micah Carroll was a perfect 5-5 at the plate with 2 RBI & 2 runs scored. Freshman leadoff hitter, Drew Hobbs, added 3 hits & scored 3 times. Beck added 2 hits & crossed the plate twice.

The Eagles now set their sights on the March 30 MOCAL contest against Shekinah Christian.
