The Lady Eagles won big over Shekinah Christian 14-2 on Tuesday in their Season-Opening debut.
Shekinah Christian got things started in the first inning when an error scored one run.
Delaware Christian knotted the game up at one in the bottom of the first inning with Katie Neuhart singling on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.
Delaware Christian pulled away for good with six runs in the second inning. Emma Rindfuss singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run, an error scored three runs, Neuhart singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, and Eden Marquis drew a walk, scoring one run.
The Lady Eagles tallied seven runs in the fifth inning. Delaware Christian put the pressure on, lead by walks by Krista Haskins and Neuhart, a triple by Olivia Rideout, a single by Elizabeth Ringley, and an error on a ball put in play by Ella McCoy.
Haskins was credited with the victory for Delaware Christian. The bulldog went five innings, allowing two unearned runs, striking out seven and walking zero.
Neuhart led the Lady Eagles with three hits in four at bats.
The Eagles, now 1-0 on the season and in Conference Play, will next face Conference opponent Tree Of Life on Tuesday, April 6th.
